Samsung Series 3 Princeton 11.6 NP300U1A VS Apple MacBook Air 11.6"

Here's a chart I prepared which compares all of the key technical features and specs of the Samsung Series 3 Princeton 11.6" NP300U1A Notebook versus the Apple MacBook Air 11.6" Notebook Computer. At about 50 to almost 70% less cost the Samsung Series 3 Princeton 11.6" NP300U1A notebook offers far more value than a similarly configured Apple MacBook Air 11.6" Notebook. The Samsung also has a working version of Microsoft Office 2010 pre-loaded on the hard disk. Please check out my hands-on review of this feature packed notebook here:

  1. Nice comparison Wes... Basically we can spend the $650 difference and get an SSD 256 SSD plus the extended battery and get 4 times the performance of the Mac and potentially at least twice the battery life.

Better yet, we can continue to be $650 richer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an anti Apple type I love my iPhone, but I like to spend my money wisely.

  2. Bassam:
Apple makes nice well-engineered products across the board and their customer service and technical support is consistently ranked number 1 amongst PC manufacturers year after year....however, the Apple Tax is still quite hefty when you compare hardware and as nice as their IOS software is, I do not personally believe that the additional monies spent for it is justified. I prefer to spend the saved money on SSD, extended batteries and other hardware upgrades while Linux and Windows are more than stable and capable operating systems not to mention the abundance of applications. $650.00 is indeed a hefty Apple tax, one that informed consumers can avoid if they take a good hard look at the Samsung Princeton 11.6" Notebook.

  3. Hey a correction for you lowest price on amazon is was /is $949 for the lowest air, Also BTW the samsung will run lion if you hack it right, LOL but there is another factor to consider the air is an i5 which means turbo boost that 1.6 can go up to 2.3ghz and well our lowly samsung right now is $699 hey I got it for 385. :) But also one more inaccuracy the air has more of a battery than you think the air stocks a 35Wh battery not a 3500mAh and ours stocks a 7.4V AH battery which translates to 29.6Wh so the air got more of a battery!. Just letting you know.
